Hello,

I am using a laptop PC, Windows XP. To burn CDs I use the pre-installed Sonic software. Each disc has an autorun.inf file, plus a self-executable file called "runner.exe," which starts the web browser and displays an HTML file, the home page for a web that is on the CD. It also has an icon fle. Generically the text in the autorun.inf file has three lines that look like this:
[autorun]
open=runner index.htm
icon=myicon.ico

This is fine in the Windows environment but naturally will not work on Mac systems. I'd like the discs to self-start on Macs. At present Mac users have to manually open the root folder of the CD drive then double-click the HTML home page file to get started. The only software I've seen mentioned on the internet that can burn hybrid CDs that will run in both Windows and Mac systems is a program called CDEverywhere, the "advanced" version. It is expensive, even moreso when converted to Australian dollars, and it is not worth the price for the small amount of sales of my CD, especially as almost all of them are for Windows users. I'd like Mac users to get a full self-start for my CD, or at least to get an automatic window to display on-screen with the necessary HTML home page file displayed in it, that they can double-click.

Is there a cheaper Windows-run shareware product that can more-or-less do what CDEverywhere can do?

I know there is a hybrid "burn" program called Toast, but it runs only on Macs.

Thanks,

RMS
