First off I just want to say I LOVE THIS SITE!! Everything from the forums to the guides are so helpful.
Okay with that out of the way I've been backing up dvd's with AnyDVD and CloneDVD <--(easy and idiot proof perfect for me) And I'm wanting to start using some Double layer disks for bigger movies, so I wont have to make two disks.
Where's the cheapest place to get them? Ebay, Bestbuy, CompUSA?? And what kind of brands do you recommend or not recommend?

Hi.

Just buy from whoever has them on sale. :) Best Buy usually has a sale on them at least once a month or so. I got some from Buy.com on sale a couple of weeks ago. Newegg and Amazon have had them on sale but after shipping, they're not so cheap. Supermediastore.com also has sales often with free shipping. Unfortunately with the latter three, there is often a rebate involved to get the price reduction. Best Buy is usually the best option since they tend to have a sale fairly often. Since I've said that, they won't have any on sale for months. The DVD Media forum will have a post on media sales for the week, usually posted on Saturday.

Only verbatim. Some have had success with ritek but they are hit and miss. Stay far away from noname brands.

Verbatim is the only DL to buy. Supermediastore.com or Best Buy usually has if for < $2 per disc. SMS actually has a sale of 20 for $30 after rebate though I don't know if it's still going on.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
