Try Nero and burn as data at 8x. I've read at this forum something about KaZaA movie downloads and the problems related to it and I'm no expert on this issue as I don't download movies, simply back up DVD2SVCD.

Only problem with kazaa is the fake crap and the tmd crap. tmd dont even deserve to be burned to cd-r and will definately have a lot of trouble if you try to encode them to mpg!

well thank you all for your information. i just downloaded NERO 5.9 and started using it...

The only other problem I have is CD space... If a movie is complete (one file), and it exceeds the disk space on the CDR, How can i break it apart? So it can fit...

I know some movies come in multiple files and those work fine, but the files that are too large im having problems with...

thanks again for you help...

I have another question using NERO.

If I want the movie file that i'm burning to play on a dvd player, I should burn it as a SVCD? or what format from NERO...????

I will only Burn Movies to play on DVD players not other PC's... So I need to know how to configure NERO to do that....

Thanks.

Easy enough... when Nero first open up:
1. Close the Wizard if it opens
2. Scroll down on the left hand side and select either VideoCD or Super VideoCD
3. Drag and Drop like you would a normal disk (dont forget to give it a label if you want to!). If the format is incompatible, Nero will tell you what you have to fix.
4. Burn as usual

Use TMPGEnc, click file - mpeg tools and click the merge and cut tab. There you can split the movie! But make sure to set to MPEG-1 VideoCD or MPEG-2 Super VideoCD!

Ya you can burn it onto a VCD.. with a few alterations, the specification for a VCD is:
Audio: 44.1Khz, stereo, 224kbits (although personally I have been able to get away with 192 without any cautions popping up)
Video: 352x240 @ 29.97fps/23.976fps OR 352x288 @ 25fps

TO make your movie compatible for VCD, simply pass it through the VCD wizard for TMPGEnc and burn it through Nero as you would normally.

Hi,

Open the AVI in VirtualDub and do the following,

1. click video - direct stream copy
2. click audio - full processing mode
3. click audio - compression, select no compression pcm and click ok
4. click file - save as AVI!

Try the AVI saved with TMPGEnc
