Hows it goin everyone
I have had my 360 for about 5 months and I would like to start burning and playing my games on it but I have NO idea how to get started.
Is this what I should read http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/386475
And is there any advice or pointers I should be aware of before diving into this.
Thanks

I have some questions before I get into the reading.
1) When completed (after all that modding) can you play games quickly without having to do some crazy stuff (like going though a 20 step process everytime) just to get burned games to play?
2) Can I make CD's of the my games or will I have to waste hard drive space on the 360?
3) And finally, I just got a brand new laptop. Will this process of modding my 360 put my laptop in any 'danger' of being damaged?
I would like to know before getting into the tutorial
Thanks!

1- can just burn and play
2- can only use DVD+R DL... no cd's or dvd's and nothing but demos from the hd
3- can't use a laptop... need a pc with sata ports

Whew,
I read through the tutorial this morning and I would say I have a good understanding of computers and I didnt understand one bit of what it was talking about. I kinda understand about the firmware for the 360 drive but when it got into burning the games....I was lost
Let me get some more simple questions in if I may,
-When it speaks of 'firmware' is that software for the 360 drive that lets it read burned games?
-Can you just burn a 360 game unto a DVD+R DL the 'normal' way without taking apart the 360 and connecting the drive to the comp (the way I read it)
-I know this is gonna sound crazy, but is there a tutorial that puts everything in Lamens Terms so I can get a good idea of what hacking the 360 and then burning games require everytime you do it?
Thanks again! I want to be able to do this by christmas so Im trying to put has much of my free time as I can into this.

1. Yeah when they say firmware they mean the stuff that lets the drive read your backups
2. There is people that get there games online from certain sites that host them
3. Not too sure, I'll keep my eyes open though.
Hope this helps.

I would like to thank everyone for their quick answers.
One more question lol
After you update the drive with the hacked firmware, and after you put the drive back in the 360, can I just make ISOs of my games and burn them to DVD+R DL and play them without ever opening the 360 again.
Or will I have to take the drive out everytime I want to make a backup?
That is the last thing I'm confused about, other then that I think I'm set :)

if you have the samsung dvd drive for your PC that is being talked about in this forum, you will not have to open the 360 up each time, as it is capable of pulling off the SS codes provided you update its firmware with the kroen v8. hope this answered your question.
