hey guys,
just put in a modbo v3 in a version 7 ps2 for a friend of mine. the matrix screen flashes up when first powered on and reset and i can enter the modchip's menu and change settings, it also plays all region dvd's and original games fine. but when i try to play any usa games (we are in australia) i get the red "please insert ps2 format disc" screen. i'm assuming this is a wiring problem, i have checked all connections, and i've used thicker wire for + and - . i've heard that it could be a wire length issue, mine are not really very long and couldn't be shortend by much but could this be it?

any help much appreciated.
thanks,
ben

What media are you using? And what speed are you burning at? I would suggest taiyo yuden, verbatim, or sony 8x's and burn at 4x.

hi,
well i'm not actually trying to play games that i've burnt i'm trying to play games that were bought overseas. they are usa NTSC versions and i am in australia. could it be a faulty chip, as i've heard that the modbo is just a clone of the infinity and is a big dodgy?

some info, modbo only made up to 2.1. 3.0 is definitely a fake. If your chip is green in colour, good luck to you. modbo 2.1 is white in colour.

recent modbo versions come in 3 digits (745 or something).
