How can I read a DVD movie copy?

Hi guys,

My PS2 doesn't read dvd copies.
I heard about a boot disc to solve the problem.
Does anyone know anything that could help me with this?
Please help!

if you have an older mod it probably needs to be turned off before trying to watch the dvd copy.

And is it true that is not "healthy" to play copies in PS2? I'm just asking as a friend of mine killed 2 PS2 and told me that was the main reason.

You'll have to look on the net for the different modes of your mod chip to know how to turn it off. Playing any copies on a ps2 does strain the laser more than an original would because no matter how good the dvd media is it's still not as reflective as the originals. Having said that, using the best media possible would put the least amount of extra strain on the laser and would make it last the longest.

Try the following: press the eject button, place your DVD into the tray and then press reset for 1-2 seconds. The PS2 will now go to standby mode. Now press reset again for a few seconds. I dont know what mod u have, this method works for me. Hope it helps.
