My brother got a PSP rcently and Im getting one too. I wanna know how to do the following::
Run GBA Romz/NES and SNES and Gameboy Romz [I have an emulator but it don't work!! I think I need something called an eloadr as my bro has 2.6 firmware]
Activate WMA playback without connecting to the internet
Copy games to a Memory Stick Pro Duo/ Memory Card or what ever the storage unit is caled.
Play vidoes in MPg or AVI format not just MP4, [maybe there an alternate media player I can store in the memory stick
That's all I can remmber for now..

okay the first thing u need to do is downgrader using the easy downgrader u can get it on dl.qj.net. next to run the roms get some emulators and look on limewire for some roms. place them is the part of the emulator folder that says roms. to play videos on ur psp u:
1. On your Windows PC, Download and install 3GP Converter, a free program, from http://www.nurs.or.jp/~calcium/3gpp/ (The page is in Japanese, but don't be daunted, just click on the link that says "3GP_Converter031.zip" to download). You can also use Sony's Image Converter 2 program, but it costs $19.99.
2. Run 3GP and switch it to English. Select the video format "Customized: MP4, for PSP (Direct, renamed)."
3. Drag and drop video files to the 3GP window. They will be saved as .MP4 files with odd file names on your hard drive. Don't rename them.
4. Connect your PSP to the computer using the USB cable. Navigate to the USB Connection option under Settings to activate it. A folder that displays the contents of your Memory Stick should open on the computer.
5. Create a folder on the Memory Stick called "MP(underscore)ROOT." Under it, create another folder called "100MNV01." Copy the .MP4 files there. You don't need the .THM files also created by 3GP converter.
Why the odd file and folder names? Ask Sony.
6. On the PSP, navigate to Video and Memory Stick, where your movies should show up.

Is this a converer?? I heard that to downgrade you need two PSPs and it can wreck your PSP...

yes it can wreck ur psp if u do it the wrong way and no u do nat neeed 2 psp's to downgrade i downgraded from 2.50 all by my self you just download the easy downgrader full edition from pspupdates

What about WMA and how to copy games?? I got the video thing, but is tehre a way I can play my movies without converting them my computer is really slow...

PS Does the thing come w/ instructions??? Can I still play the games I did b4, will I still have the same songs on there?? Do you just put it on the mem stick and run it or what???
PS Is it okay to doulble post?? I didn't see anyhting about it in the rules...

About your question concerning downgrading and needing two psp's. I would assume that you are questioning the 2.71 downgrade? If so then I have a answer for you. When the people who created the 2.71 downgrader posted it they said you need someone with a Firmware 1.5 so they can give you some files. They said this/did not include the files in their downgrading package because it is illegal to distribute these files. So basically, the downgrader maker(s) can't legally distribute the needed 1.5 files needed for their downgrader to work, so they said to find someone with a Firmware 1.5 psp, but the needed firmware 1.5 files can be found on certain sites, therefore no need for a second firmware 1.5 psp.
*i know that was a long answer but I didn't know any better way to state it.

or there is always downloading the easy 2.71 downgrader which includes them.

thanks for posting that link. I had heard about the development of it shortly after te 2.71 downgrader was released but lost track of keeping up with it. But anyway have you tried it? And if so how reliable would you say it is?

Pretty reliable. Its basically a port of the original 2.71 downgrader its just packaged in the easy installer and walks u thru the process on screen on ur pc.

thanks for the info.I'm on dial-up and downloading a 15mb file would kill all 28.8kbps of bandwidth, so unless I really need it I dont download it :) Thaks again hexitnow.

it says if yur PSP has a certain number not to downgrade. The PSP in question has that number!!!!! What should I do, do i really need to downgrade in order to run emulators???
PS How am I spamming the place up?? I only made 2 threads this one and one about a game I coulnd;t find.....

that was not directed at you that was directed at pspjunior. i should have clarified with the full name. since u have a that version of the motherboard and cant downgrade ATM you can always upgrade to 2.71 and then use the devhook launcher to emulate 1.5.

U cant downgrade if u have ta-082 motherboard. you can use the devhook launcher on 2.71 to EMULATE 1.5. It doesnt actually downgrade your psp. and with eloader you cant use all homebrews. its only a partial list of all the things that can be done on a 1.5.

@realg, you CANNOT downgrade right now, if you try and downgrade with a ta-82 motherboard you will BRICK you psp. Which means that you wont be able to use it again. So just do what Hex said and go upgrade to 2.71 and EMULATE 1.5 with DEVHOOK, not that hard.

Hey im really cunfussed im tryin to connect to the internet on my psp i got the wifi max thing plugged into my PC but when i got to test connection on my psp it says there is an error with the IP address and it said it timed out im really getting frusterated please help anyone ASAP can you send me a step by step thing to get it workin post back if you hav any ?'s thanx
