Safedisk 4.0 Need Help!!

I've been out of the loop for quit awhile and need some help. I just bought the game StarShip Troopers for my son, and its only a matter of time befor it becomes a disk for sanding my hard wood floors.lol anyway I would like to make me a back up copy of it, however its the DVD version and has Safedisk 4.0 can some one Please help me with this. Do I use a DVD to make a back up or just a CD-R? CD Clone? Alcohol???? Thanks for your time and help you's can offer.

You don't have to use any of those. Go get yourself CureRom. It works with safedisk 4.0 also. For most of the games now you just run the program on the .exe that launches the game in the game folder. It patches it and fixes it. For the secure rom games you dont need the disk. If it says you still need a disk with safedisk after you patch it. You can use Alcohol and make a Mini image. Let it run to 10 percent then cancel it. When it ask you to delete the file just say no. Next go into secur rom and hit next. On the secound screen it will ask you if you want to use anything to mount the image. Select Daemon tools( go install it if you dont have it). Then find the .exe in the games folder and patch it again. It creats a shortcut on your desktop. Should work fine. If that doesnt work, then rip the entire image using alcohol and repeat the step to mount/patch the game. WALA!
I just used it on company of heroes and it worked great. That used secureROM. Try it out! let me know!
Google CureRom to find it.
