yeah and isn't it pretty hard to get your license there? from what I've heard there is some pretty serious training and it costs a lot of money.

hey how expensive are BMW's compared to the US? My dream car is a black, 4 door 325i stick shift, so whenever I save up enough to get, I've been wonderng if its cheaper to go over there and buy it, then ship it home.

It's hard for the Germans to get a license. They can't even get one until they are 18 and then they have to spend like $3,000 just for drivers training. Being in the Army though all you have to do is take a writen test (thats a little tuff)
The BMW's are cheaper over there but you would have to convert it and pay taxes plus some other junk which means you end up spending more. Now if your in the military over there you can get one pretty cheap (Average cost of a 315i compares to something like a Toyota Camery) and the government will ship it back for free, I know people that bought BMW's just before they left from there and then brought them back to the states and sold them to make a profit..
Cheers

yeah I didn't know what kind of dues or fees I would have to pay when bringing it back, but thats cool that the army will ship it for free. I'm not planning on buying a new one, probably a 94-98 or something like that. I'll have to write my buddy and ask him to check it out. thanks!

I've ridden across northern Germany on a '98 GSX-R750. The Germans are MAD drivers. I was doing 150mph+, a BMW was 6 feet away from my tail.
'Cos they have a tough test, they think they can drive. Yeah right! It was the scariest place that I have ever driven.
I'm no spring chicken BTW
