do a search in the forums here. that question has been answered since before i joined. soooo.... read. that will be your best bet.
if you dont find info here at afterdawn check out www.ps2hd.com and also www.exploitstation.com and maybe even www.ps2-scene.org
i dont think you'll be able to do the HDD without the network adapter. the NA automatically has the connections for the hdd so that would make it rather hard to do without the NA. but like i said, read and you'll find the answers.

that's why i said do a search. i dont know if you can do that. i dont think you can do that. is it the chubby kind?? if it is then i seriously doubt that you can do that. if it's the slim one, then there MIGHT be a way to do something like that.
the NA has an interface for the hdd and the ps2 so if you dont have that interface already it might be a problem. depending on your location you can get the NA for 20bux or less at some game shop. then use any IDE drive that physically fits the adapter (normally NOT a western digital or SATA drive).

you should click start then run, then type "diskmgmt.msc". that will get you the disk management program. you SHOULD be able to see the physical drive in your pc. right click and format. or something like that.

what are you trying to do?
if you dont have the network adapter for the chubby PS2, then get one.
if you dont have the MC exploit going with your memory card, then go READ the forums. the answers are already given to you. i promise.
if you're trying to play online, then it might not work at all from hd.
so... what are you trying to do?

basically, the MC exploit causes a buffer over flow and allows you to run another program of your choice.
to do it, you need a way to copy certain files to your MC. i used this site's info a USB drive and a codebreaker game cheat device. http://www.exploitstation.com/articles/codebreaker_exploit.php that was all i needed to exploit. there are other methods, but i dont remember because that one was the easiest.
doing the exploit is free, but equipment like USB + code breaker will cost you about 20 bux a piece. if you already have it, then read the tutorials slowly. collect all the files they speak about and just walk thru it. it's easy. the exploit is your BEST option because everything is FREE (on the internet somewhere).

If HD loader won't boot new games so could I use magic swap in the disk tray, then load my new game that I had dumped from the original thats on the HD?
What I am saying is that if Magic Swap is in the disk tray, will it boot my new games on my HD?

you should have on of the latest patched HDLoaders. i think it's 0.8b. the version i have has playstation 2 and hdloader under it in PS2 colors. that should load MOST games. but if you think about it, the game industry knows about hdloader and put in measures that will cause their games not to work on HDD. and having swap magic will NOT make the games boot on hdd. and yes action replay should put the files on the MC. but i dont know how that works, so i can't answer. you'll have to go to another forum here on AD, or go to www.ps2hd.com or www.exploitstation.com
