First, thanks to brucedlx for a great guide. I even managed to burn emulators for nes, snes and gameboy, along with some roms of course, on a single minidvd. Strangely enough, i couldn't get any GCoS to work (versions 1.0-1.5) except Multigame Version 3. (whose boot dvd function works for me like disc explorer)

This is where a small issue comes up: i've downloaded this GCoS Multigame Version 3 in a rar with PAL, NTSC and JAP .dol files, but no matter which one of them i burn, it always says "pal bios" at the screen bottom and runs on 50hz. I've read somewhere (don't remember where anymore) that someone has similar problem, but for him it always says "ntsc bios". Does this mean it's something wrong with those .dol files or is it possible this happens due to gamecube versions? My is pal version, and this guy's is then obviously ntsc version. Then what's the point of three dols in archive?
Any clarification on this would be helpful. Oh, and i'm using GC Bootable disc GUI 0.1.2 RC3.

And finally, it's not such a big deal, after all it works. Only, i figured, since all the emulators and roms i have are ntsc, why then the os wouldn't be so too?

Can anyone assist me with running this on a U.K. Gamecube with a Xeno GC v1.00 modchip. The chip does not have any form of GUI so I need something to boot up with that will allow me to browse to the disc and then run the emulator.

I've tried a few homebrew boot disk suggestions but with no luck as yet...

For all you guys out there having trouble with the snes simulation on a GameCube, here is your answer: this mini-DVD is bootable without GCOS and plays all (at least the more than 800 included ones) games fine, even without SD-card. Works also with XenoGC chip!

Comes with cover, gamelist and a little FAQ.

Get it here while you can:

Good luck!

Did not try this on the XenoGC but I think it should work. Since the XenoGc 1.0 has no file browser you need to create a bootable disk using a program called bootableDisk3.rar which can be found on the tehskeen.com forums.

1) get the latest snes9x gx (version 008) from http://code.google.com/p/snes9x-gx/
2) get bootabledisc3.rar from the tehskeen.com forums
3) follow the instructions included with bootabledisc3 (i.e. rename the .dol file for snes9x into bootldr.dol, etc.)
4) create a directory called 'snes9x' and inside that 'roms' in the 'my_bootable_disc' folder and copy your .smc files there.
5) once the iso file is created just burn it and run it.

I am using a viper (cobra 1.6). I have the genesis and game gear emulators. I do the burn properly but it wont play the emulators. Im guessing its because i need the viper.dol but alot of hours of googling came up with nothing. Am i doing it wrong or are there viper sega emulators out there? where can i find them?

1. You do not necessarily need a modchip, but you do need some way of booting DOL files with your gamecube (Max Drive PRO, Gecko SD or mod chip)
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Your burning method is fine, except I've never heard of that burning program before (I use nero myself)

So all I have to do is have an SD card of any brand then place my files on the SD card then put it into the memory card slot and play?
I tried putting my SD card into the gamecube and it didn't read it all. How do I make my gamecube read other SD cards?

Umm you can't just put an SD card into a gamecube, it won't even fit. You need SD Gecko, than you can just put your roms (as well as the snes emulator .dol file) on it and off you go.

the pro has been discontinued for a long time. SD Gecko will do you just fine. You can get it really cheap here:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3993

It says for wii, but can still be used on the gamecube w/ SDLoad as and SD adapter.

I was looking more into the gecko and it said that it is kind of difficult to get it going but is it still pretty simple just a little bit more complicated than the SD media launcher?
Also does that link that you gave me just give me the card or do I need to buy that other stuff seperately.
I cannot find the other pieces that you mentioned.

Hi

Gecko SD method is just as easy as SD Media Launcher or whatever. You can google for a tutorial.

The link I gave you is for an SD adapter. You will also need an SD card (I recommend at least 2gb). SD cards are commonly used in cameras, cell phones etc. You might even have one already. If not, a 2gb card will run you about 5-10$ from an electronics or computer store.

The other thing I mentioned was a gamecube action replay. This might be harder to find, since gamecube is discontinued. Maybe you can search eBay for one.

Once you get your files on the SD Card, you pop the SD card into the adapter, then pop the adapter into the gamecube and off you go. Read some tutorials for more info, google "SD Gecko Gamecube".

Thanks a lot, I am ordering the thing that you gave me now plus I am looking for a gamecube action replay now. I have one of those SD cards at home, It is only 328mb but I can get other ones because they are pretty cheap. I guess I will use it for my NES backups.
http://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-Action-Re...58481383&sr=8-1

Is this what I need or do I need a specific Action Replay.

I know that some of the newer versions of action replay come with all the codes bundled in and do NOT let you add new codes. These ones will not work.

You need to get one that will let you add new codes. I'm not sure if that amazon one works. Sometimes on eBay, the descriptions tell you whether or not they are homebrew compatible.

Most of them are WAY to expensive for me in the 100 dollar range.
