I've been reading some of the posts here with some interest. I, myself own or mod for a number of groups wherein are all types of members, both good and bad. I see nothing wrong with a mod putting a member who has stepped over the line on "vacation" for a bit. I had one member in one of my groups who was famous for stepping over the line and doing what HE wanted no matter what the owners said. He did this up until I became mod and put him on moderation for over two months, he apologized and settled down or so we thought. But, as is in all things, he started up again and when I wrote him the last time he quit. Upon his leaving members wrote in saying they were glad he was gone as he was rather intimidating. Later on that month I got a letter from another group wherein this chap was a member, he called the ladies that were running the group some very uncomplimentary and ungentleman like names using some very foul vindictive. Suffice it to say he,too, was one of the ones who felt that mods had no right to speak up and curtail those misbehaving. A group is only as good as it's owners and mods and all in all it's the mods' job to keep the group running smoothly. So for those of you that say the mods are power hungry look at yourselves and realize that you are not playing nice with the rest of the group.
