I never mentioned in previous posts that my power input socket was very loose & also the screws on the pc input had fallen off, also there is a rattle inside the box. So against my better judgement I opened her up & I'm pretty sure the scart output on the box is broken. Dont know what it should look like but it looks like somethings broken off. Hence the audio problem. Looks like it may have fallen in transit after all. Going to borrow a soldering iron & have a crack at it. So, albeit indirectly you helped me find the problem, not solved, but found. So its the couriers fault not eurovox.

Personally i would of sent it straight back to the supplier!
There is a seal on the casing which if broken could void any warranty claims of a faulty unit.
Hope you can now repair the scart output and have pleasure from your efforts.
As for you dad's unit i cannot see how this can pause without a hdd.
Pressing pause instantly records so u can watch the programme at leisure.

oh, by the way, when i first installed the box picked up all channels (luckily i saved the channel list to my pc), when scan now only finds handful of channels which dont work.

Will post back if booster has any effect!

No i havent looked at the white box outside - wouldnt know where to start with that?? Didnt think it was worth tampering with seeing as my NTL box and broadband are both fine?
