Steve 59, well what I did is change the ports manually, ie the rs232 lead into the different ports on the side or back of your pc/laptop.

if you can try it on a diferent pc. I flash quite a lot and unbelevable as it may seem some boxes are choosy as to what they will work with, Or you could try pulling out the power cord from the box while the pc is searching, this sometimes sorts it.

Hi guys,I have the a700 aswell, thanks for all the info on this site. I just have one quick question about which cable i need. in the instruction its called a rs232 but in other threads on this site it says this is the wrong cable and i need a null modem cable, i only have usb ports available on my laptop. Any help would be apreciated.

hi im new to this my kryptview box has gone down cant seem to load the soft ware it wont open i looked on eamos library like you said but what am i looking for can any lay it out in easy instructions , this is doing me head in

Ok tried several things and this is what happens.When I go into device manager click on com 1 it says com 2 is in use, so I then go back and open com 2 and it says com 1 is in use. I try to swap them around but the same happens. So my reasoning is that its because of my usb mouse attatched at same time as box. So if I unplug my usb mouse the start download button wont work on the STB editor. What the hell am I supposed to do, getting really stressed at the moment.

steve59,try inserting the cable in the other ports on your laptop, this worked for me and your problem is the same word for word.

My Laptop has vista and vista dont seem to recognise any ports by the look of it, tried other ports on pc but still the same, but my usb mouse will only work in the one port and not in the other three.

hi guys does anyone find the new fix for kryptview isnt working that good all my mates who have them are saying the same as me the cable box seems to be freezing up every hour or so anyone getting the same thats 10 boxes im talking about

steve59, OK, maybe its best to go back to basics and when you get to "the open button" close all other open windows except that one.
Then click open button, you should get a choice of ports,,, slick on number 4 port, if this those not work try number 3 port. Its one those ports on your laptop.
Also press the red button twise on the remote control immediatly and then the stand by button.

Ok will give it a try but like I said I have vista on my laptop. Anyway, after doing a factory reset is this when I update the firmware or should I search for channels first then try to update the firmware.

Steve 59, its like get the download first and depending on your area you can take it futher from there.
Question for you... the null cable your using... I take it you have a usb adapter on it and if,, those it have softwere with it?????.

Ive got a 9 pin serial com Male socket on my pc but how do I configure this to download to box. The only ports visible in device manager are com1 com2 and lpt 1.

At last Ive managed to do it, downloaded the all windows usb driver, selected the right port and bingo, now to plug it in and see what hapens, thanx to those that helped.

has anyone had problems getting the usb to null modem adapter working with vista. the adapter comes with drivers but says it should be plug and play with vista, vista tries to install and tells me it cant, iv also tried searchin for vista but no luck.i read in a forum theres an allwindows driver for it? :s

try the driver here, install the driver first, do a restart then connect your cable to a different usb port other than the one you have used before or if you have a driver cd with the cable it obviously has to be used,just as a car needs a driver to go!
im using a vista lappy and have never had trouble with any box.

Hi Guys,
Have just flashed a A700C with the 28/11/08 firmware. No problems with that. Now I can't seem to get any channals in the list. Everytime I do a search on N** on baud 6887, it says search complete and there are no channels to view.
Can anyone help me to reinstall the channels?

No didn't try searching under the other providers, but having tried many differeny things, as if by magic, 49 "TP"'s became available and suddenly lotsa of channels came up, all except the sp*** channels.
Can't explain what I did (as I just kept trying different things), and forgive me for not being too tech savvy but any other ideas to get the other channels?
