Omegand, yes you can sell it. I think you said that you had not even opened it. If this is the case anyone can activate it. (although I don't know who would want to since I have it and it is on the shelf). Never could get it to work. XCopy Platinum sucks.
Use Nero Recode2
HP 7975 Pentium 4W/2.0 XP Home

Maxtor 80 GB and WD 80 GB (used for movies only)

Of course it "sucks" dude, you, I and everyone else in the forum would agree, but some people swear by it and I'm not one of them. Anyway, the box is opened that is why I asked. Since I have registered it in order to sell it the buyer would also have to register it. That is my question. Can you sell it if it has already been registerd once. I believe I have every right to sell what I have purchased legit. Would really be interesting if I can't sell it. That would be ironic. PS...3-2-1 is going backrupt...to knowones suprise.

I'm a newbie to dvd copying and hence learned from my search for suitable software that DVD Shrink kicks ass. Now I have backed-up a few movies with it having no problems, then all of a sudden now it stopped working. I will inseert the dvd as usual with the dvdr+ media, but unlike before it takes forever to run. Meaning i insert the disc into the drive and a window will pop up indicating what drive do I want to open. This used to take no time at all, but now it takes quite awhile. Then once I get passed open disc part I set up what Parts I want (typically only english)and then hit back-up. Now unlike before in just going straight to the back up options, my computer just runs, runs, and runs. It does not freeze, it just states DVD Shrink is not responding and so when I ctrl-alt-del to end task and shut it down it takes forever to shut down and I mean forever with the DVD Shrink window almost never going away (the window just stays there). Now from this it takes again forever for my computer to turn off. If I try to run something else say explorer it will not run, the mouse does the sanddial thing but then stops and nothing. I cant run anything after this if I leave my computer on. I never really had this trouble before and am confused as what to do.
MY computer hardware is:
Amd athlon 2.2gh 64fx-51
radeon 256mb
1000gb Ram
Windows XP
Iomega dual dvd burner
I guess anyone have a clue as to what the hell is going on?

weadmd,
A couple things. One, how long have you had the Nero demo? If it expires so will the burning. At this use Shrink and try burning to a file and see if that works. Also, I believe (don't quote me on this) not all the extras are in the demo, one of which the DVD extras which Shrink looks for (DVD burn engine). Think about what happened from the time it worked to the time it didn't. Also, make sure your drive in functioning and get Nero Ultra, its worth it. Also, did you change you media from the time it did work?

Wedmd,
I go along with the other fellow. Nero Ultra is my choice for burning and I do have Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Pennicle Instant Copy DVD 8.
You can get Nero Ultra 6 from www.eagletronics.com for 49.00. That is a bargain and you get the serial key along with the DVD plug in key to make recode (the DVD burning software) work.
It has Cover Designer which allows you to make professional DVD covers and also DVD CD labels.
You can get the cover sna labels FREE from www.cdcovers.cc
As far as you problem with Shrink, I personally don't think it is a problem with the shrink program. I think there is a problem with your computer. Have you run good spyware programs. I suggest free ones ADAWARE, BeClean, Spybot Search & Destroy.
Download these and run each one of them. One will find things the other will not.
Do you have Norton's Systems works. If so run the 1 button checkup to fix problems on your computer.
By it slowing down in your browser as well as Shrink, leads me to believe it is not a shrink problem.
If your Nero Demo has expired. You can reset your computer date back to before it expired and use it for a while longer.
You can send me a Private Message and I will give you a secret about Nero Ultra............

weadmd, you will have to purchase Nero ultra 6 to get two of the package's best programs-recode and nerovision express. As Tom said it is the best all around package, especially for a newbie, that one can buy. Also it retails for 99.00, you should jump on it for 49.00, you won't be disappointed. I have over 20 software apps and the ones I use are Nero, Pinnacle InstantCopy 8, Intervideo DVDCopy 2, and Rebuilder/CCE. If you are having problems as you described in shrink, I don't think changing software is going to help. Do a system restore back before your problems in shrink and see if that clears it up. You should then be able to narrow down your mistake. Often, more than not, it is something you have installed or done or changed to cause the problem. good luck...
GO VOLS !
