Hi,
I'm downloading a movie, but can't seem to get over 5ks! (512k ADSL)

I get sometimes 6 or 7 sources but each are under 1ks each! :/

is there any way to get better speeds?

Also, often all the sources are on 'connecting...' and sit there for ages!

Realize also that the people with those files can limit their upload speeds.... just because u have a 512K connection doesnt mean u download at that speed.

Perhaps your isp is blocking kazaa??

Is that possible? Like, he's getting sources and stuff... its just slow. Wouldnt that imply the ISP is not blocking kazaa? (perhaps the ISPs of the other people with files is being blocked and thus you are getting as many sources as you normally do)

if you dare use an uncapping program @ http://www.cablemodemhack.com/ but be adware if caught you may be (Banded for life) from ur ISP.

p.s. it does work

or just configure kazaa lite to run on a high port

LOL NO THANK-YOU !!!

Having my cable taken away would be like getting life in the slammer for me.

Try using Kazoom and see if that fixers your problems.

It's gotta be a setting somewhere on your computer. i don't think it's your isp because if they were blocking kazaa then you wouldn't even be getting that.

Before I got DSL I had satelite Connection which was so Fast, but my provider limited bandwidth to 250 Mb for a 24 hour period, after I reach my limit it slowed my speed down to 5.0kb which as you know is the same as dial up service. Do you know if your provider, might have the same policy as mine did? Just a thought?

I cant understand why people are getting these speed problems I mean the only actual possibility has to be the isp!

A lot of them are only for surfing speed anyway and the only way they speed it up is to save it to the hard dive when u visit a web site.

And as for optimisers, they dont do shit either! lol

Could it be availability issues? I mean if there is only one copy of that file available and the dude with the file is sharing witha a 28.8 modem ur gonna get some cheesy speeds. ;)

Thing is, I'm trying to reinstall Kazaa etc, I left it searching automatically, there were 200+ sources for the fiel, I could only get 1 or 2 kps. I tried an mp3 for random testing purposes and got 40kps!

Well this could be a very popular file mate which would mean a lot of people are downloading from the sources already!

this always helps for me. when u downloaded kazaa lite it shudda come with some software called speedup, run that and configure the settings to find more resources for you, thats what it does it searches for time periods automatically. this always sppeds up my downloads.
but it cud just be the fact that the people sharing have a low bandwidth or only few people have the file.
