WinDVD creator toshiba and DVD conversion

Hi. I just got a dvd camcorder for my birthday. I would like to edit it using WinDVD creator. However, the camcorder recorded the dvd in .ifo format and i need it to be in a format that WinDVD accepts. Any advice as to what i can do?
