Hi guys great forums and very informative so thought i would help out.

I received my x360usb with connectivity kit v2 and easily flashed my drive. However finding information on the x360usb and xecuter connectivity kit v2 is limited so i though id explain how i flashed my drive.

First of all get the OPA-XTREME-HITACHI-7IN1-V2_1 firmware (from the usual places) and unzip the rar files on to your pc which will give you a folder called OPA-XTREME-HITACHI-7IN1-V2_1. There is a folder inside this called X-LG copy the X-LG folder to the root of your C drive and rename to LG.

Next get your x360usb and connectivity kit v2 (the smaller of the 2 pieces the bigger one is for connecting your 360 hadrdrive)ready and shut down your pc.

Plug the x360usb into a spare usb slot and connect the sata cable to your hitachi drive (this kit only works with the hitachi drives). plug a spare molex connector from your pc into the connectivity kit and then plug the little power cable supplied into your connectivity kit and your hitachi drive (dont force these cables in, there are ridges and slots on the connectors on the cable that line up with the connectors on the board and your drive)

Make sure the switch on the kit is set to the off position, there is also a little switch on the kit by the led's and the small power connector. I didnt touch this and left it as it was when i received it (over to the right near the 2 solder points at back of switch) if anyone does know what this does please let me know. Now turn your pc back on.

Windows will now find the x360usb and say that hardware is installed and ready to use. when this is done turn the switch to on on your connectivity kit and you should have some nice blue led's light up on the kit.

At this point my drive was not recognised in windows so press the mode swith and the leds should go red (Mode B). Again my drive was still not found so i then turned the connectivity kit switch back to the off position and then turned the switch back on and the lights where still red which means your drive is in mode B, at this point i got a message at bottom right saying new hardware found and showed the hitachi drive name and then that hardware was installed and ready to use. when this was complete i went to my computer and checked what drive letter had been assigned to the hitachi drive in my case it was H.

Now go to START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, and select Command prompt.

A black box will open and should show something similar to
c:\documents and settings\ blah blah>

Now type in cd.. and press enter do this again until just C:\> is visible. now type CD LG and press enter this will take you into the folder that the firmware is in and should show C:\LG> if you want to make sure type DIR and will list the files that are in the folder you should see FLASH21.BAT in there, if so your in the right folder.

Now type the following - FLASH21.BAT H 1234

(THE H SHOWN HERE IS THE DRIVE LETTER THAT WINDOWS ASSIGNED TO YOUR HITACHI DRIVE IF YOURS IS NOT H THEN REPLACE IT WITH WHATEVER LETTER WINDOWS ASSIGNED TO IT)

The last 4 numbers can be any combination you want.
It will now back up your drive key and firmware before it starts flashing the drive.

When it has finished it will say done 100% you may now shutdown the system. If it says failed dont worry it will reflash again until it is 100% verified do not touch anything until it says that you may now shutdown the system.

Now go into the LG folder on your C drive and you should have a folder there called X21-xxxx.OPA (xxxx will be whatever 4 numbers you used) copy this and paste to at least 2 other different folders and burn to a disc to make sure it is safe as this contains your original firmware e.t.c

Now turn off the 360 connectivity kit and shut down your pc and disconnect the drive from the x360usb sata and disconnect the connectivity kit from the pc molex connector and the hitachi drive.

You now have 1 flashed drive. reconnect back to your 360 pop in the backup and away you go.

Ive tried to make this as simple as i can. any questions just pm me and ill get back to you

Please note this is how i flashed my drive with no problems at all. I take no responsibility for anyone bricking their drives whilst following this tutorial

Happy flashing

Make sure your folder you ranamed to "LG" is in the root of drive C:\ only and not in another folder or drive, other wise you will need to trye the full path to it instead.

I just received my x380usb and i have tried all of the methods above, without success. can you tell me if all of the leds on the converter unit itself have to be lit-up. All are lit up except the Power light. I have the molex plug hooked up. The xusb360 shows under the usb manager but it wont come up under the devices area. My thought is that the power is not getting to the drive. all of the lights on the connectivity kit work (RED/BLUE) the tray will not eject if the eject button on the connectivity kit is pushed. The mini plug is also connected. If anyone has a possible solution, Please let me know.

I was wondering if I could get some help regarding the xecuter connectivity I just received. I have taken my xbox apart, the 360 drive is now hooked up to my computer but I can't get it to get reconised. Also, on the actual chip there is only 1 LED light that stay blue regardless of the button setting. I have a stock Dell 8300. Can anyone please help and let me know if the part might be defective or if there is something else I need to do. I already tried the HD hookup and it worked perfectly.

Just flashed my drive this morning, xbox manufacture date was 3/6/06 and it had a hitachi 47d inside, all flashed perfect so easy to use, was more scared of opening the machine than flashing the drive!!

i finally got my hitachi drive to flash.
at first i was getting a message when i went to comman promt that it was detecting mr drive and itjust got stuck there. a couple of days later my hard drive went completely nothing to do with my xbox but got a new hard drive legit copy of windows loaded it all and tried it all again and it worked i did also use the eject button on the connect kitv2 when windows was loading cause i heard for other methods it helps. what a cool piece of kit its got its own power button on the side dont know if u lot have messed with that yet.
but if anyone is having problems using the usbkit the this is what i thikn could solve the problem. well stuff that i think workd for me
1. reinstalls windows
2. when switching on ur comp hit the eject button push it down and up a couple of times even when u get into windows always leaving mode b button down dunno if this actually works but i tried itand it workd fine still flashed regardless
but when actually flashing the drive make sure the eject button in up and at all time the mode b button is down
if anyone is not getting any solid lights on there kit then theres a power button on it 2 it doesnt exactly say what it does but it is a power button on the side which u kan flick up and down
hope this helps as i had loads of trouble at first with my connectivity kit and usb
