I want to buy an xbox 360 but I wanted to know, before, if the firmware flash is good. Like, all the games will work with it? or at least gears of war is working fine? some games doesn't work?
Second; how to flash your xbox 360, do you need some tools? do you have to be an expert? ( because I'm not, my psp is flashed tough, I flashe it way before those "simple methods", my ps2 run swap magic also, but it was stupid-proof, my psp is running perfect and was reeaaaallll easy to flash, I flashed it twice I think. for the latest dark alex mod =D ) But is it a LOT harder to flash your xbox 360?
also; After it's flashed, do you have to do something special to burn them? I know there's a faq, and i'll go see it for this, but just simple info, you have to patch the ISOs? complex? long?
finally; if you know something I should know, tell me!
thank you very much to help me!
ps: I don't want ANY ohhh my god, you are an ass to burn your games and all :@ I mean, I spent 5862$ of games on my ps2. it's ENOUGH to burn some ( and anyway I' supposed to buy what I'll burn anyway. )

Gears of War isn't even out yet but that's besides the point. Every game ripped and burned correctly will work with the firmware hack.

The only tool you will needed to get is a Torx-10 wrench. It cost about 3 dollars at any auto parts store. It's actually very easy if you're patient to flash a 360. You do need SATA ports on your motherboard (PC). If your PC doesn't have them, you need to obtain a compatiable SATA PCI card. The SIL-3112a Chipset works for Hitachi 360 DVD-ROM's and you can make practially any chipset work for the samsung but you have to modify a file during the flashing process.

If you're backing up games you own (which I assume you are), then you need to patch the ss.bin (security file) into the .iso to get it to boot. You can go into a lot more about what needs to be patched, but as long as you patch the ss.bin file with SSMerger 1.7 then your game will boot. It's not hard at all, since you're aware of the PS2 Swap Magic 4.35GB limit, I'm sure you've rebuilt .iso's before. If you can do that, patching 360 images will be a cinch.

There are different firmwares for each drive (Hitachi and Samsung). Determing what you have and I'll walk you through the process. You may need a Pioneer 111d burner as well in order to burn the .iso correctly. The firmware hacks are picky as to which media and burners are supported. I think the Hitachi supports more burners but I'm not entirely sure.
