hi guys

about to buy a silver bulky ps2 here and its a SCPH-50003 second hand and it only seems to play CD games (blue backed) and not the DvD games (silver backed) think the lense is faulty or something? question is, is it repairable if so how much are we talking here?

It may only need cleaned or adjusted. But if it does end up needing replaced, then it will cost approx 2/3 (two-thirds) of the cost of the 2nd hand PS2.
New laser = minimum of £30 ($50) (with shipping/fitting = £45 ($75))
2nd hand refurbished PS2 = £75 ($120)

Better off trying to get a 2nd hand refurbished PS2 from a reputable retailer, that will play both types of game.
