not sure where exactly this goes so sorry in advance. i'm trying to burn a SVCD with ashampoo. here is the log from the burn process...

9:18:15 PM: Preparation completed successfully
9:18:16 PM: Recording at 4x in disc at once mode. The recorded CD will be finalized.
9:18:16 PM: Pre-buffering data...
9:18:17 PM: Prebuffering completed.
9:18:17 PM: Recording CD
9:18:17 PM: Writing lead-in of session 1
9:18:18 PM: Average write-speed: 0 KB/s or 0x.
9:18:18 PM: CD recording completed
9:18:18 PM: Recording CD failed
9:18:28 PM: DiscInDrive: No disc in drive. (KEY: 2 ASC:3a ASCQ:0 - NOT READY: MEDIUM NOT PRESENT

of course there is a cd in the correct drive and the window before the burning starts says that the inserted disc is OK. any suggestions?
