Meritline says Ritek 4X DVD-R will not burn on Pioneer A04

I called Meritline to buy some Ritek 1X DVD-R, but they are out of stock like many vendors. They do have the 4X DVD-R Media except I was told they would not work on a 1X Drive (Pioneer A04). Is there any truth to that.

Rubbish. With the latest firmware, hacked or otherwise, they burn just fine. I've burned around 150 of these at 2x on a 104 no problemo.

I agreed, they should not work and would never work, I think meritline is just trying to cheat over you for business.

Buy the 'CloneDisc X2 (Ritek)'

Is cheaper than X4 Ritek

[ I have a Pioneer 104 & Sony DVP-NS305 so I am able to use cheapest Bulkpaq for a movie back up but I realise not everyone has a non fussy DVD player ]
