Hey Guys

I have just downloaded a 700 meg movie file and it wont fit on a cd is there a program where i can make the file smaller allowing me to fit it on to 2 cds

Try demuxing the audio and reencode it with a lower bitrate i.e. 160kbps to 128kbps. Cut out unimportant parts of the movie for example the ending credits. You can use virtual dub for both these processes. If the audio is vbr mp3, use virtualdubmod or even nandub. Or you can recompress the movie with a lower bitrate but that would decrease quality. Or you can split the movie to fit on two cds. Also do you have any 700 MB cds or does your cd writer not support them?
