I'm having a bit of some trouble with this dvd. I have encoded it many times and I haven't been satisfied with it yet. My problem is concerning the audio. I'm just backing up the main-movie only. I ripped it with DVDdecrypter and tried both dvd2one and dvd shrink for encoding. I removed all the unnecesary audio options and picked the first audio option. The first audio option is DTS 6-ch English. I get no sound using DTS, but when i add the AC3 6-ch English i do get sound. What is the difference between these two audio options? Has anyone else backed up this movie? If so what do u recomend on the settings?

DTS and AC3 are two different sounds. when they make the dvds they put both sounds on the movie. you only need one, they both have the same sound for the movie

your reciever(TV) doesnt read the DTS sound, so you will not hear anything.

if you are hearing sound with AC3 then do your movies with this option

hope this helps

Well, yes and no. Your DVD may or may not support DTS sound. Digital Theatre Sound is being supported on some DVD's and will give you significantly better sond that the 6 ch AC3. only disregard the DTS if your DVD player does not have a DTS decoder.

This should help you:
