Got my New Cendyne +/- External to work. I have made a data CD-r and audio CD-r.

It came with nero express, vision, Sonic MyDVD and Intervideo software. Sonic is the only software I can drage movies on my hardrive over and attempt to burn on a DVD. So far I loose a lot of movies to burn cuz they are PAL format. I guess my Xbox will only ready NTSC. Also, I should be able to drag over 4.7 gigs worth of movies. Not the case. It says I have 384mb left, I drag over a 86mb file and the amount of remanining spzce goes to Zero and I cannot burn. If I add up the files normally I get about 2.5 gigs but the Sonic MyDVD says its over 4.7, whats going on?

Thanks
RC

Are you dragging over DVD compliant files? Such as IFO and VOB files? VOB's shuoldnt be over 1024MB each time.

The problem you have got is:

The audio is not in compliant form.

Mydvd needs to transcode the audio to 48Khz and also into PCM which puts the compression through the roof.....meaning file sizes are increased HUGELY.......

I have found no resolve for this at present, however some members may have the guidelines needed.....

I can only put 3 vcd's of 700Mb onto 1 dvd becasue of this......

If anyone does have any clues, it would be nice to hear from you????????

I maybe wrong but this question has been asked several times, especially in www.sonic.com - forum.....

...............PIO is no go, DMA all the way...............

I think that Oriphus got it, but it's not the audio that's the problem. PC type files like AVI and mpg have to be transcoded to DVD format like IFOs, VOBs, and BUPs. Yeah, they blow up in size more than double.

Alright.. now we know what the problem is, thnx for that. Now the remedy to the problem would help quite a bit. Anyone that can tell me how to transcode them to dvd compliant files?
