Hey, im kind of new to the ps2 stuff and im just wondering if could play this game i downloaded for ps2. Its called melty blood act cadenza. Its a japanese game and since i download its also a backup. Uhmm i have the big ps2 with the flip top but no magic disc. I also have an action replay max that comes with the memory card for it that looks like the ps2 memory card. Is ther any way that i could play act cadenza after i burn it to a dvd? i heard a lot of stuff about cogswap and dvdloader but i cant find and good info on it.

Not with AR MAX you can't.
Just buy the Swap Magic discs, they don't cost that much.

Yes you can!

If you have a USB device, you can use MAX MEMORY MANAGER to transger the a memory card exploit - so upon entering a PS1 game - the memory card exploits the buffer overflow and runs a program of your choice. From there you can run a slew of ELF files allowing back-up PS2 games to played (eg. cogswaploader).

Google memory card exploit.

Isn't that post kind of mean/misleading :S, ace1uk. If you didn't know wether or not you could you probably shouldn't have replied.

No. Had he mentioned that he had a USB device, then I may of said it was possible with exploit, but he didn't. Besides, not everyone can get the exploit to work, and its not guaranteed to work with every game.
Swap Magic discs are virtually 100% compatible for playing all PS2 backups, and far easier to use than the mem card exploit.

0_o. That's still kind of biased / mean. Purposely leaving out usefull information - I mean almost everyone now-a-day has a USB device to some extent.

And wtf? SwapMagicFix, is exactly the same - and SwapMagicFix.com is the place where you can download CogSwapLoader, which can run games with the same amount of compatiblity as SwapMagicDisc.

My way takes a little bit longer, but is free: and just as efficient.

The only problem you can come across is having games with a low TOC.

Two questions:
1. will the mc exploit work with ar max evo?
2. will mc exploit work on v14 PsTwo?
I want to get the evo cause its readily available at ebgames.

Yes and Yes.

I recommend for your BOOT.ELF that's going to sit in the memory card you use myPS2 by ntba2. But: make sure to get all of the defaults working first.

Good luck ;D!
