I am trying to flash a samsung ms28. I have a vt6421 chip as everyone does. I use mtkflash and it identifies the drive which is 3 by the time I press the 3 I already have the box off and wait 10 seconds and turn on the xbox but it always stop reading at 01% and gives me a flash type error? What can I do?

How do I get to the bios of the chipset? Thanks

You can't flash that one like a regular Samsung. You have to use the bad flash recovering method.

So memnock you have any theories I could do? Should I wait 20 secs instead of 10? Should I try another slot to put the card in?

Do you have an M28 drive? That's the 1st thing I'd need to know. Also it seems best not to have other SATA devices connected when you fliash.

Yes I do have the ms28 firmware. It says something like invalid output code and a bunch of letters and numbers.

This thread tell about the MS28. Half way through some tell how to do it without needing to solder anything. It's not like the older, easier Samsung MS25. Also you can search here. BurningAs recently flashed a MS28. I haven't had to do one yet.

This what I found to work:
unplug everything connected to an IDE Cable on your pc except for 1 CD\DVD drive
Boot up to dos and then switch on your x360 dvd drive, then type the mtkflash command mtkflash r /m orig.bin
and press enter you should now get a menu to pick your sata card Now switch of the x360 dvd drive and also unplug the power connector to your pc dvd drive on the IDE Channel.
Now press enter on your pc keyboard and switch on your x360 dvd drive straight away. This will now backup your firmware.
