I am going to be getting a dvd player for my computer. How do I know if my dvd player at home supports dvd-r or dvd+r? I would hate to buy a 200 dvd-r drive and then it doesn't work on my dvd player at home.

Well if ya know yer model number and brand you can just do a google and see if they list the specs. I'm pretty sure all the newer dvd players are totally compatible with any dvd+-r/w. Since players nowadays are pretty cheap, it wouldn't hurt to have another handy anyways.

DVD-R would be more compatible than DVD+R. What burner are you planning to buy?
