Caesar IV Backup Help

Recently purchased Caesar IV and installed it. Works great! Problem is that I don't like to use the original due to the frequent use. In the past, I played certain games so many times, it ended up getting scratched and has problems. I always try to get a backup. It uses a backup through SecuROM and was wondering if this thread could do the trick:

thanks to Shoey for it. I will eventually try it out, but right now, I'd rather wait for someone who has tried it already to let me know if it works rather than downloading all those programs, installing it, stressing out, uninstalling it, etc etc.
