I am in a university campus that has a wifi setup. The problem is that half the sites are blocked by "Fortinet" that seems to be a kind of network firewall or something. Also, because of this, i cannot use limewire or bittorrent.

A single television set for 5 ppl in the room is driving me nuts. I really would like to use bittorrent as some relief. Someone told me that one could use proxy servers as a means to counter this. I use www.kproxy.com to access blocked sites but any downloads from these "kproxyied" sites are corrupt. Is there a way to setup a proxy server setup so that it is universal for all web apps on my computer?

Note: I absolutely cannot touch any of the campus equipment!
