Ok i'm going to do it. I'm going to update my 360. First things first are to get some stuff to backup and the burn the games.

I have read through some of the threads and see the drive Samsung SH-D162C can read 360 disks directly to the PC. Seems like a good plan to get this.

Do you think it's worth getting the Pioneer (D111 or is it 110?) as well to make sure I am able to burn the backups as well?

if you are going to do the FW hack, then you better get both of the DVD drives. other wise you are wasting your time. you will just be wasting discs over and over. so spend the extra 30 bucks and get the 111d.

My pioneer 108 with 1.20 firmware burns games just fine. Got 5 games perfectly burnt first time now at 2.4x onto RICOHJPN +DL's. So if you have a 108 or similar, it should do the job
