Hey guess, hopefully someone reads this,
but i was playing a backup of guitar hero and it was working fine (i used swap disc to play it) and all the sudden it wouldnt load. and when i reset it it no longer will load DVD's or DVD games, and so ive adjusted the laser using the white wheel like everyone talks about, and now i can get CD's to boot, but with a dvd, it just spins constantly, and the laser acts like its trying to jam into the center of the cd, but cant get to the center to read it, i probly dont make any sense, but does anyone have any idea of what the problem might be? is my laser for reading dvd's burnt out?

When you move the cog to read CDs then it won't read DVDs anymore. Just adjust it so that it can read DVDs. And if you want to play a CD game then just move it back. Just keep going back and forth.

My suggestion is just to convert all of your CD based PS2 games into DVD.

well i cant get it to ever read dvd's, it gets as close as i think its going to get to reading with where i have it, because it at least keeps spinning the dvd, but it never gives me a disc read error
