Been using tyg02 inkjet printable for a long time and never had a problem....recently i purchased the same discs ive always purchased and got the value line....these discs have a horrible failure rate! There are noticeblle blemishes in the dye and burn rings..my failure rate is at about 8% which is terrible for taiyo yuden..am i the only person having these problems with the value line?

monteca - I'm assuming you purchased Taiyo Yuden Disc @ Shop4Tech.com ? And there in maybe the problem ! Shop4Tech does not have the best reputation @ afterdawn.com though some members have ordered from them without complaint ! They've been known to sell/ship Bogus taiyo yuden disc on occasion ! Which maybe what happened to you ! While I've not used the taiyo yuden printables I have used taiyo yudens under the sony/ fuji brand label as well as the Taiyo Yuden value-line silver thermals and found them excellent ! I'm sorry you got burned ( Pardon the Pun!) You might want to research some more DOC Ty can tell you how to tell bogus from real taiyo Yudens & I believe it's already posted here at afterdawn.com . You might also consider ordering from sopermediastore.com, Meritline .Com or Rima.com as these companies are highly regarded by most members here. I have ordered from supermediastore and meritline myself without problems ! I"ve no personal experience with rima but have'nt heard anyone with complaints on them yet! Return them for refund if possible then order from somewhere else ! Good luck monteca Bye now!

Official docTY Taiyo Yuden thread -monteca that will explain the bogus versus real Taiyo thing better than I can Kivory 666 - Aka Doc Ty is A veritable encyclopedia on all things Taiyo Yuden ! I know what to look for to make them authentic and they are authentic taiyo yuden....i have ordered from meritline and shop4tech and its just the ones with the valueline sticker that are causing major issues.....iknow about their bogus tyg02 discs and just dont buy them. BUT they do have free shipping and a coupon so i get them cheaper

monteca- well then perhaps you've gotten a bad spindle - I would find it rare with Taiyo yuden even in their value line ! But I suppose it could happen ? The value line does'nt mean that the media is deffective it just does'nt meet taiyo yudens own stringent standards for their premium media they test them on a piece of high tech gear that none of us could probably afford and those that met the higher standard are marketed as premium ( 1st line ) Disc those that don't are sold as valueline Still excellent taiyo yuden media but off in a measurement or two so they are marketed in the valueline ! The only deffect I've ever found in a taiyo Yuden disc is one with a inclusion ! a piece of dirt /debris that was molded into the recordable side of the disc - The actual dvd disc was sold under the fuji brand name ! As I said I'm sorry to hear your having problems - I would still see if it's possible to RMA- them to get a refund if it were me ! Good luck and happy burning !!!!

Thats all I use mostly is TY value line hub printable x 8 and never have had that problem and I have gone through about 800 of them, I only by from Rima or Supermediastore, dont trust Shop4Tech at all.
