does anyone know who makes teac media? any/all speeds.

Old Teac CDR, in 1997, were Mitsui SG. It was written in the inner ring ;).

The newer Teac media I've seen are CMC, unfortunately, but for CMCs I've seen them performing quite well, so they seem to be from a good production line.
