DVD-R Media larger then 4.7 GIG'S

Hello Everyone,
My question is are there any company's out there online that produce dvd-r media larger then 4.7 gig's that are 1 sided? I have an automotive program that i subscibe too that is 7 dvd's and all are larger then the 4.7 gig's. I would like to backup for myself.

Unless you can afford to splas out on a pressing machine and $100 discs, then i think you are out of luck.

If they're larger than 4.7GB then most likely they are DVD9 A.K.A dual layer DVDs. Maybe you can somehow rip those dvds?

I'd suggest asking the author of the automotive program to see if the whole lot can broken up into even smaller amounts ... ie; 4.3Gb size portions
You can compress Movie files from DVD that are larger than 4.37Gb to fit a DVD-R but as to whatever format that auto-motive program is written in is anybodies guess

So in answer to your original question sellncars - I doubt it !! -

You can copy everything to an ISO image of the DVD and then Zip it to 1 or 2 disks. Latter to restore the software you just need to unzip the file top your hard disk and open it with demon tools. http://www.daemon-tools.cc/portal/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5

Yeah, but then you cant watch it on a DVD Player, that is only good for backing up purposes in the case where watching the back up isnt necessary
