I previously modded with an alladin chip and installed evox with slayers 2.6. I was upgrading to XBMC today with instructions from wiki. I was following the steps and in the midst of step 5. my connection timed out and would not recconnect. Now I cant reconnect, I get connection timed out message with FlashFXP. I turn it on and I get a screen with EVOX in the corner and xbox logo and it says OPENXDK under it. It hangs on this screen and I still cant connect via FTP. I was transferring the Trainers file when it timed out... sooo I dont know what to do. Im using a router, cat 5 cable etc etc and I had it all working fine until now...
steps I was following are below... any suggestions would be great!

1. Find out what the dashboard on your Xbox is (usually evoxdash.xbe in C:)
2. Rename this file to avalaunch.xbe (this will be used as a fallback* if execution of the new shortcut fails).
3. Download the XBMC Shortcut XBE and rename it to whatever the dash was named (usually evoxdash.xbe)
4. Upload the renamed XBE to where the old xbe was (the old dashboard)
5. Install XBMC to somewhere on E: or F: (best to install to E:\Apps\XBMC, making sure the files go in there, so you DONT have E:\Apps\XBMC\XBMC)
6. create a text file and put the path to the XBMC default.xbe inside it (eg. E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe)
7. rename to whatever the dashboard was named, except use the extention ".cfg" instead of ".xbe" (eg. evoxdash.cfg)
8. Upload the renamed text file to the same place you uploaded the shortcut xbe to in step 3.
9. Reboot

I tried to ping xbox and that is also unsuccessful, now Im assuming that the IP is the same as before. If I go to the microsoft dash the IP is listed as unchanged. I tried changing it in microsoft dash and restarting it to the screen where it hangs but still times out.

When you say network adaptors enabled... Thanks for the advice but sorry if this is dumb but do you mean like if my local ethernet port is enabled? Right now both 1394 and wireless are enable under network connections. I will fiddle around with them.. My connection is Cable modem, Linksys WRT54G router (port 8602 is forwarded) wireless to my pc wireless to my 2 laptops and wired cat 5 from my router directly to xbox.

Oh yeah and I tried to put slayers disk in it no longer works. Sadly I started this process almost 2 years ago with the mod and slayers and never used the modded ability until trying again a few days ago. I need a DivX player bad these days so im determined to fix this damn thing.
