my printer just doesnt work...it worked when i first got it (which was a while ago) but now it hasnt worked for like a half or more than half of a year. i try to print something and it just doesnt work. and i have had the printer wizard setup thing and i also have a disk but it doesnt do crap to help it install software or anything! i would love help with this. thanks!

Well, the first thing that you can do is uninstall the printer driver. You can do this by right clicking My Computer and selecting properties. Under the tab called Hardware (if you are running XP) you will see a button called device manager. Select the device manager and look at the printer. If the driver has an exclamation mark or something that indicates the driver is not working then you need to reinstall the driver. Sometimes this is best done by going to the website of the manufacturer and getting any possible updates to the driver. Install all updates and restart the machine.

If the printer does not work at this point you may need to go back to the device manager and remove the driver. After you remove the driver reboot and a found new hardware wizzard. You may have to direct it to the folder on your cd or to the driver folder on your HD.

Final solution. Make sure that you are connected to the printer. If the printer is connected to a USB port make sure the USB port is operating. Go to the printer folder and try to print a test page. Hopefully this will give you the information you need for troubleshooting. If you have a newer operating system it is possible that without an update your driver is not working properly. Good luck!

OMG I GOT IT T WORK! IT WAS JUST UNPLUGGED XD XD XD XD XD! the usp was jsut unplugged from the usb outlet! well you helped cause i wouldnt of probably looked there if it werent for you! thank you!!!!! xD

You know the funny thing is if you were to call someone on the phone the first thing they would tell you is to check your connections!

Well, you could say that I am good with all computer problems. It is funny because most people don't understand the basic principles of computing. I spend a lot of time on the, "Windows Virus and Spyware" threads. I help people fix their problems all the time. The thing that I really love about it is that I have other guys give pointers from time to time and I learn from it. The point of teaching is to also learn. PM me and we can talk about trading emails for MSN.
