I am new to this forum. After weeks of reading and learning about the options for backing up dvd movies, i have decided on AnyDVD and CloneDVD. I am using the RW drive that came with my HP m1170n media center desktop, which is listed as HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GWA-4083B, which has double layer 8x DVD +-R/RW capability, but only writes to DVD+R or +RW media. I anticipate that the movies I want to back up will exceed the 4.7GB on the standard DVD+R that my drive will burn. I do not want to compromise the resolution, or quality of the backup. Can anyone tell me: (1) the best approach to backing up the larger movies to my DVD drive using the 4.7G DVD+R DVDs; and (2) if I obtained an external dual layer drive, would that work better, and if so, how?

Thanks,

Mark
