I'm trying to run an NTSC version of Final Fantasy XII (burnt on Verbatim DVD+R @ x8 - also tested burnt @ x2) on a PAL PS2 (slimline) using Swap Magic 3.6
My TV is a bit old, and doesn't support an NTSC signal, so when I boot the game in normal mode, the game displays in black and white.
When I boot in PAL mode, the game displays crystal clear in colour as it should, but the sound is out of sync in cut scenes, and skips during FMV sequences.
I reasoned that it can't be because of the DVD type, or the burn speed, since the sound plays fine when the game is booted in NTSC mode, and other (PAL format) games have run perfectly when burnt in the same way.
Can anyone suggest an alternative cost-effective way of converting an NTSC game to a PAL one, or just suggest what might be going wrong?
You'd be better off buying a fully wired RGB scart lead for PS2. It'll automatically convert the signal frequency, displaying the picture correctly & in colour, and also give a much sharper, crisper picture.
