hey,

My uncle uses the "main" computer in my house. That computer has access to the router and everything with the connection. He also has a wep key on the connection. I'm wondering is their any way for me to get the wep key besides logging on the router which requires a username and password, and i don't have those. i would ask my uncle but he's gone to BP's to watch the oilers game so i can't ask him. I want to update my roster for NHL 07 so thats why i need the wep key lol.

So is their anyway to somehow see the wep key either on his computer or mine?

p.s. i'm using a linksys router if that helps.

yeah theres ways to get it but we cant talk about cracking WEP codes here and its something that isnt easy either. only way to get it is to ask ur uncle or see if the username and password combo on the router is still at their defaults.

The defualt router login is usually
Username:Admin
Pword:Admin

If your SSID is similar to the name of your router i.e. NETGEAR, then thats usually a good indication the password is still default.

netgear is
username:admin
password:password

linksys is
username:leave it blank
password:admin

net-gear is
username:admin
password:leave it blank

belkin is
password:leave it blank unless u changed the password

these might not work for all routers. its just some of the more popular models

Type in the ip address of the router to log into it. To find this out go to Start>Run Type "CMD" Type in new window "ipconfig" it will state the access point
