CAN I SOFTMOD MY PS2 LIKE I DID MY XBOX

can i softmod my ps2 like i did my xbox...OK so you can softmod an xbox with a a game(mech assault) an ARcard with the files and the usb thing and so on and so on...
But can you do that with the PS2???
I have seen a lot of the changing CD thing...but i haven't seen anything on how to softmod the PS2can you...if so HOW it would help me a lot...
help if you can.

By soft mod do you mean like swap magic where you put swap magic in take it out put a backup in and it runs or like hdadvace where you get a disk buy a hd and boot the disc and select the game you want to run

And the swap magic is not what i was looking for,,, that the CD changing thing that i was kind of talking... i didn't want:(

Every way you will have to use a disc besides a modchip on the ps2 hd advance you boot the disc and then select what you want or if using a usb hardrive then go for usb extreme same thing but boots of usb.

DO NOT use USB Extreme. it sucks. its compatible with about 33% of the total games on the market. if you want to go that route then most deffinitly use HDadvance. its compatible with about 90% of the games on the market. but never use USB extreme.

there's nothing that you can do to the ps2 that's even close to how you would softmod an xbox (flashing the firmware I believe it is). Look into independence exploit, you still need to load a disc but, it's the closest thing to what you want to achieve.

You can not softmod a ps2 at all because there is no hard drive but if you have the fat kind, you can buy a network adapter and connect to that and buy the ps2 linux disks but its useless because you cant play backups.
