* FirmGuard disables reading/writing of drive firmware. This is always on. Can only be turned off via Enable0800 mode. Do not have SATA cable plugged into Xbox 360 console when in Enable0800 mode.

just wondering what they meant? you obviously need sata cable from 360 to pc while in 0800 mode right? to backup games. or do they just mean sata from 360?? can someone clear this up for me please and thanks in advance.

This means that there is no program that can read or modify the firmware on the 360 drive unless you unplug the sata cable from the 360 dvd drive and hook it up to a pc and run the Enable0800 mode DVD.

What this means is that theoretically Microsoft can't detect the firmware. Even if they had a way to auto-update the firmware of older flashed drives, they couldn't do it to your 360.

They mean that you can't read or write firmware while the 360 drive is connected to the 360 motherboard.

from now on, if you want to rewrite to the drive you are gonna have to put it into 0800 mode then write.
