I rencently got DVD Shrink on my cpu, and when i tried to use it and open a VIDEO_TS folder, I had an error message telling me:
DVDShrink encountered an error and cannot continu
Failed to open file C:/VIDEO_TS.IFO
So far, it is normal, as the program I use to rip my DVDs doesn't name my .ifo 'Video_TS'. It names it vts_01.ifo or something. Now, I tried to rename the file and then fix it with FixVTS, but FixVTS crashes now that I renamed the file. I really don't know what to do! Please help!
What movie are you trying to open in Shrink. The newer movies are encrypted and require help from various sources. AnyDVD, DVD Fab Decrypter, or ripit4me to name a few. Give us some more info.
BluesNick,
That movie is about 12 years old. You can use DVDDecrypter to rip the DVD to HD and then use Shrink to open the files. That error message usually is because the ifo. file is corrupted. That is why I suggested you ude DVDDecrypter to rip it as it will confirm a bad file. You can d/l DVDDecrypter below:
Sorry, but I think you guys haven't read my request carefully ;
As I said, the .ifo file is not named VIDEO_TS.ifo, it's named vts_01_1.ifo, so DVD Shrink gives me a message that he can't find VIDEO_TS.ifo, normal, it doesn't exist! But, I'm asking, is there a way to convert this vts_01_1.ifo to VIDEO_TS.ifo? Rename doesn't work. Other solution would be to find a program like DVD Shrink who doesn't absolutely asks for VIDEO_TS.ifo.
You are going to have to use IFOEdit and create one. I have never had to do it as I would just re-rip the original. You can try the guide below to see if that helps.
