Swap Magic 3.6 stopped working

I just purchased Swap Magic 3.6 w/ a flip top for PS2 a couple of weeks ago. Everything was working as it should until yesterday when the PS2 stopped reading the DVD version. It recognizes that the disc is a valid PS2 disc however instead of loading Swap Magic, it keeps going to the screen where you have a choice between loading the memory card or disc. When I try to load the disc again, it takes me to the same screen and never boots into the Swap Magic program. I've checked the disc and there doesn't appear to be any visible scratches and the CD version seems to be working fine. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem or what's the best way to clean disc? Thanks in advance.

just turn the playstation 2 off and back on and if it goes back to that screen then do it again until it boots mine does the same thing i just keep rebooting it until it goes to the swapmagic screen

I did it for over 10 time lol and I kept getting the same error.

also my laser is in the center, and looks like its trying to grind into the cd, is there a way to fix that? and when i placed the SM DVD in my comp, the disc doesnt read either, is that normal?

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to try it when I get home. I know that I tried to reboot it a couple of times when it first started happening with no luck. And I certainly don't want to have to to reboot it 10x every time I want to play a game. I did notice a small scratch on the swapmagic disc the other day. Man, those things are very sensitive, like I said, I've only had it for a couple weeks. Anyway, it's very possible that may be the problem and I might need to order a new one. I was just wondering though, does it sound like this is a physical problem with the disc? I don't want to purchase another swapmagic disc and it stop working on me within weeks. There's no way that the software within the PS2 can actually start blocking the swapmagic disc from working or booting up right?

my friend had the same problem on his slim ps2. When he tried my swap magic it worked fine.
