Hi

I've been reading about all the problems with Sony drives (I have a DRU-510a) and updating firmware. I want to upgrade my drives firmware to v1.0c but the instructions say to disable DMA in Windows XP.

Well I have an internal drive in an external enclosure including a firewire to IDE bridge. How is this affected by DMA and do I need to disable it?

Also I'm not too fond of the Sonic RecordNow DX that came with my DRU-510a can anyone recommend good bruning software that A) works with this drive B) works with unbranded media and C) works well and relatively fast.

Thanks!

ps: is v1.0c the latest firmware for a DRU-510a?
