Hi guys. I Have aMatrix Infinity Mod with PSTwo. I downloaded and burned Action Replay as well as CodeBreaker. Both Copies boot, but the problem i seem to be having is playing burned games with the cheats. Inside Action Replay MAX and CodeBreaker i select my Cheats(Codes) and then select Start Game, if then askes me to insert the game. I then insert the copy of my game, but it doesnt boot from there. Ive read many threads, and most of them said that ARMax does not allow for booting burned games. It beens that CodeBreaker doesnt allow this either. Ive read that the Swap Magic CODER does support CD-R, DVD+-R disks, so that will prob work, but i cant seem to get my hands on it.

Does anyone have a similar problem, or does your burned copies work with these Cheat Disks?

Please help....

Thnx

mangpepe, try reading before answering a question, saves you posting crap!
Matrix Infinity IS a modchip!

Forget AR MAX, its crap anyway. The problem lies in the fact, that once your chip has booted a backup of, say, Codebreaker, then it is disabled. So you can't then boot a backup game after selecting codes. You'd need to have an original cheat disc, select the codes, then boot the backup game.

heres what you can do, buy an [i]original[i/] copy of swap magic, then, bootup the cheats then swap magic then the burnt game. It works.

Doesnt expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected and therefore mean youre expecting the expected which was the unexpected until you expected it?

Why would he want to do that, if he has a MODCHIP ?.

@ Fanix : a lot of people have problems using copied games with non original AR and codebreaker discs.
So far, i haven't seen anyone offer the solution for this problem, but you might want to PM this guy called 3dluis about this, he knew a lot about this kinda problem, and he might know if there's a solution to it.

WierdName, reduce sig to conform to forum rules ASAP.
1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

FaNIX, I was facing the same problem until recently. The following is what I have done to resolve this it:

1. Download the Codebreaker 9.2 ELF and place it on a USB memory stick its around 2.8 MB.
2. download uLaunchELF v.3.80 CD.iso and burn it.
3. Boot uLaunchELF on your PS2 and follow the menu options and explore your memory card.
4. On you memory card create a BOOT folder.
5. Rename the Codebreaker 9.2 elf you have downloaded to BOOT.ELF, all upper case, and copy it to the boot folder on the memory card, it should look something like this mc0:BOOT/BOOT.ELF
6. Reset your PS2 while Holding R1 and CB9.2 should load from the memory card.
7. Select your cheat codes and start game.
8. Place your backup in the drive and hit X.

You should be good to go at this stage.

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but I desperately need help. Can you turn the cheat codes off on the codebreaker 9.3 once you've enabled them? And, related to that, do you have to have the codebreaker 9.3 disc with whatever cheat/s slected inserted before the desired game everytime you want the cheats activated, or do you just do it once? I'm not too sure how all of that works, if someone could please help me. Thank you very much.

CrimsonN,

You have to use the Code Breaker CD everytime you want to cheat on a game. The cheats have to be loaded into memory in order to become effective. Everytime you reset your console the memory buffers are cleared. if you load the game normally witout first booting CB then no cheats will be activated.

Let me get this right: You need to boot from the CB CD, then select your cheats, and boot your game, where the cheats will be activated. Now lets say i use a money cheat, i add 10000000 gold to my hero with the cheats on, and then i save my game. I reboot my PS2 and directly boot the game DVD, without CB. Will I still have that 10000000 gold added to my character, as i saved the game before rebooting?

Regards

Thnx for the help guys@!

Thanks for this tip. I've gotten CB9.2 to work... almost. Is it supposed to run really slowly even in the memory card?

Its loading one frame every few seconds on the Codebreaker launch screen.

Thanks for this post guys. I've been wanting to get rid of booting uLaunchELF to load the CB 9.2 ELF. I'll try this booting CB 9.2 from memory card thingy later.

Is there any way we can patch and rebuild the game iso with the Codebreaker code built-in so it will be automatically loaded everytime you load the game? I'd like to do this on my FF12 disk. Any guide to do this will be highly appreciated.

Quick question Kingtut, in regards to 6., is there any special method of resetting the PS2? I'm having trouble getting the elf to load from the MC. It just stays on the PS2 browser menu. Do I keep the ULE iso in the drive? Does that even matter?

thebabo, No need to keep the ULE iso loaded, actually you probably will not need it again until you want to edit the contents of MC. If you are having problems loading the boot.elf from the MC I would check what kind of modchip you have installed on your PS2.

Anoder method to boot from memory card exceps(mc:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF and using R1 to load)is by downloading "Matrix Infinity Manager" load it and the install the manager to your memery card then rename the elf file you want to use(eg. CodeBreaker)to MANAGER and replace the file in MATRIXTEAM directory in your memory card and then you can boot using triangle button.

And so you can you 2 apps from memory cars one for R1 and one for Triangle(on some modchip with dev modes is L1 insted of R1)for me is R1

Matrix Infinity has the obility for those two boot metods

I have a question for Kingtut22:

Its Concerning the Codebreaker 9.2 elf files, I have the ulaunch.elf file loading up, and I copied the codebreaker 9.2 elf to my pen drive, and copied it to the hard drive, when I run the codebreaker 9.2 elf, I pick the codes, go into settings and change the Auto Tray to NO, when it asks to insert the game dvd, I do the knife trick, but it stops the drive from running, I place the back-up disk in and press the X button and it just sits there, nothing happens, any thoughts?

I was wondering if you could tell me a step-by-step procedure on how to use the Codebreaker 9.2 elf files on an unmodded ps2, it would be much appreciated?

Sorry to be randomly butting into this, and even though what I'm about to ask is completely unrelated to this topic. But, I'm in desperate need of help and nobody will help me.

So, I ask

I have Gameshark 2 V1.1
And I'm trying to get codes for Resident Evil 4

I went to the Gameshark site and found it and everything, entered the codes manually, checked them to see if they were all right [including the Mastercode] After entering them all, Highlighted them, pressed "Start" it saved the cheats, and then it said insert game and press "x", I took out the Gameshark game, put in RE4 for the PS2, and it played perfectly until I started playing.
The codes didn't work or something...

Am I not playing with the codes on or what?
What am I doing wrong?
I've seen that you can download them from the computer to a USB Storage device, and somehow transfer em to your Memory card, but do I really have to do all that just to get the codes?
Why can't I enter them manually like it used to be in the older Gameshark version? Or can I?

Please please help.
