Well I've been fairly successfully backing up PS2 games for over a year now. (Thank you for all the guides afterdawn authors) I've hit a minor snag and I wanted to see if anyone had any advice.

My retail (yes, retail) version of Madden 07 lags terrible. I've tried restructuring and burning to hoardes of different media. Cleaning the PS2 (yes, very carefully.) I've tried burning at 4x and burning at 1x. To no avail I still have nasty lag. My retail copy lags to the point of total frustration.

So the big question.

Is there any way around this? I'm using swap magic. Is there any way of maybe compressing it so it runs better? Maybe even bloating it out? I'm at a total loss here.

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
