After I run my avi through GSpot I have the following error. Can anyone help me:
Directshow was unable to render this file.
Following is the error reported:
0x00040242: VFW_S_PARTIAL_RENDER -Some of the streams in this movie are in an usupported format.

I have installed the AC3 codec, the video is fine, but there is no sound.

Which audio codec did GSpot say you needed and which video codec does GSpot say the movie was encoded with?

Life is but a dream...so wake me up already!!!

Open the file using AVICodec (http://avicodec.duby.info/)... do you get an error again?

That AVICodec is better than GSpot, told me exactly what I needed and where to get it. Now I have the correct codec and the audio is fine.
Thank you.

AVICodec is good for reaing MPGs and for batching crap but in general i find GSpot is more useful... bleh whatever suits your fancy really :)

Yeah but GSpot doesnt give the lowdown on MPG files (i.e. codec, bitrate etc)
