I can help you step-bystep to installing it urself. just leave ur email and i will get back 2 u. or, u could just pull it apart and take it to an electrician, giving him the detail on how to install it, BUT that may not work for u depending on where u live. i live in an area with a lot of crime, so the local electricians install it and dont report it to the police saying that i am illegally modding a ps2.

If u are going to try be very caredul and double check everything before turning it on and get a solder iron insteas of the gun, much smaller and eaiser to hold. Radioshack's solder iron were small enough for me to use. Some things u might need is a desolder tool in case u bridge something and flux. Flux helps a lot. Instead of scraping the pads with a knife, use fulx and solder tin the pads and desolder it then solder the wires to it. Its much eaiser. But even if u are going to scrap the pads flux helps solder stick to the pads. Btw edit your post fourm,rules.noposting,emails. but can PM ppl.
Hope this helps a bit
EDIT:
Davbere is a good installer he installs for like 50$ and 20$ for shipping PS2 back, and about 20$ to ship it to him. You might want to ask him for the prices though cause this was his prices a 4-?? months ago. Kinda hard to get in contact with him, unless through yahoo/msn.

you may screw it up, and probably will. if i was you, try to find a compurter shop which does custom built pc's, and negotiate a deal. i have tried 3 now, and they have all said "sorry, we only do pc's", but there is bound to be 1 that will accept it. give them the details on how to do it, tell them what tools will be needed, give the the diagrams, and dont give them more than £20. p.s i you decide to do it yourself, dont use that soldering gun. ive opened up my ps2 and the places i have to solder are near microscopic!

No offense, but taking your PS2 to a PC shop may not be the best option. Some of these guys have decent electronics knowledge, but knowing electronics doesn't mean you know how to solder, and custom built PC's don't require soldering. If you find a PC shop that's willing to do it, make sure they are willing to back up their work. I wish I could offer install services, but I have yet to install a mod chip myself. I will in the coming weeks. I have formal training in soldering and I'm J-STD soldering certified.
