Here is an easy to understand guide to use Swap Magic. Written by Me.

--------------------------------------------------
Prequisites: (Buy at www.mod-chip.com)(For Slim PS2 Consoles ONLY)
- x1 Swap Magic 3.6 and Slim Kit Pro ($29.95 USD)
- x1 DVD +/- RW Burner
- x1 Slim PS2

When Considering what Version of Swap Magic to buy, I recommend you get Version 3.6, as it is compatible with more games than CODER(3.8).
--------------------------------------------------
Part 1 - Installation
OK, so you got a Swap Magic Disc, but hold your horses! Before you can play it, you must install the Slim Tools. If you bought The Slim Tools from www.mod-chip.com, a link to an excellent installation guide should have been sent to you in your email. Some notes on the installation though:
-When installing Tool C, I recommend you put some liquid glue on it, to keep it in place.
-When Installing tool B, make sure to bend the metal tab of the PS2 as far back as you can. Be careful not to break the hinge, but dont pity it, you will need to apply a considerable amount of pressure to the tab to bend it far enough for Tool B to go in all the way.
-----------------------------------------------------
Part 2 - Using Swap Magic
Once the slim tools are installed, you can use Swap Magic. To use it, refer to the video I made:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K337qtFo3N0

To play PAL games on NTSC TVs and Vice Versa, go down to 'Video Mode' and use left and right on the + Pad to select your video mode. If your game is the same mode as your TV, leave it at Default.
Japan - NTSC (J)
North America - NTSC (N)
Europe and other Countries - PAL
--------------------------------------------------
Part 3 - Tips for Burning PS2 Games:
- Although DVD-R's work a bit better, DVD+R's will work just as good.
- Use SONY, Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden Media to burn PS2 Games.
- Use Nero or Alchahol 120% to burn your Discs. DVD Decrypter might not have Buffer Underrun Protection, which may lead to burning errors.
- Burn Discs at HALF the Max Speed of the disc.
- 8x Discs may be a bit better, but 16x work fine too.
- DO NOT USE +/- RW DISCS! ALWAYS USE +/- R's AND FINALIZE THE DISC.
--------------------------------------------------
FAQs:
Q: If I isntall the Slim Tools, can I still close my cover?
A: Not sure with Magic Keys II, but with Slim Kit Pro, yes, you can.

Q: I burned a CD game and booted it with SWAP MAGIC CD Version, but it didnt work.
A: It has been said that CD games boot better on the DVD Swap Magic Disks.

Q: Can I use Action Replay with Swap Magic?
A: Yes. ARMAX is Supported (not gameshark). Boot ARMAX first and enter your cheats. Then continue loading the game with Swap Magic as normal.

Q: How do I Tranfer Memory Card Data from my PC to a Memory Card?
A: http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/cd2mem

Q: I tried to load a PAL game on my NTSC TV with Swap Magic but the picture is still weird.
A: Not all games can be fixed with swap magic. You may need to buy a special Transcoder, Patch the Game Manually (guide can be found on these forums), or get a Mod-Chip.

Q: Should I get Slim Tools or a Flip Top?
A: Slim Tools. They are easier to install, dont void any warranty, are barley noticable, and leave your cool original cover on your ps2.
-----------------------------------------------------

I hope you found this guide useful. Cheers!

AR has a problem.

The disc won't stop spinning once the system's sensors are deactivated, meaning the disc can't be swapped as Datel never programmed the disc to activate the drive brake (as the tape/tissue mod page makes note, the sensors are disabled meaning the system's lid is in a constant state of closure).

I use Ghost Switches to modify my slimline PS2 and I'm now left with a useless AR Max as a result. I'm still looking for ways to beat it but so far, no luck.

Are you using the correct boot disc with the disc types? There's two Swap Magic discs; one for DVD games and one for CD games.

And for the PS1 games, you need another boot disc called "Breaker CD Pro".

I thought the same thing. But I ordered Breaker Pro 2 weeks ago. It says it has a cheat program in it, I can't wait I hope it comes today. I have all my backups rady for it. I like the swap magic program to play genesis and snes roms on the ps2 but I need Breaker Pro to play NES roms.
